Excavations Ongoing At The Al Aqsa Mosque Area

The Aqsa foundation for Waqf and Heritage has revealed large scale Israeli excavations being executed in the area adjacent to the southern wall of Al-Aqsa mosque, the area is also known as the Umayyad Palaces area.

The foundation confirmed that some of the excavation works were being carried out at night, especially in one of the water cisterns located in the area that leads to the subterranean of the Aqsa mosque. The foundation warned of the risks and the impacts of the excavations on the Aqsa mosque and also warned of “the occupation escalatory efforts to judaize the area, especially because of its adjacency to the Marwani prayer hall of the Aqsa mosque”.

In its report that is supported by photographs of the site the foundation stated that the Israeli occupation’s authorities and the antiquities authority initiated a large excavation works over the southern area that is adjacent to the Aqsa mosque, where it has opened several excavation sites in the area well-known as the Umayyad Palaces. The excavation sites were scattered over the southern western area close to the area that surrounds the Aqsa mosque niche, which is called the Al-Khanthaniyya corner; and the middle and the eastern western area.

The excavation sites were covered with tents. The foundation crew noticed a number of excavators and digging tools in the area, moreover staircases and toilets were installed in the whole area of excavation perhaps indicating that the excavations would last some time.

The Aqsa foundation also noted in its report that large plastic bags filled with dust and stones have been extracted from the drilling operations, as well as big banners in Hebrew were set up with the inscription 'access is not allowed to the excavation area'.

Eyewitnesses told the Aqsa foundation that intensive excavation works are being carried out at night, especially in one of the water cisterns that is located in the area that leads to the subterranean of the Aqsa mosque. Also the report mentions the creation of openings and other corridors in the same area that leads also to the subterranean of the Aqsa Mosque and to the Marwani prayer hall.

They confirmed that while the digging carried out at night the soil evacuation takes place in the morning.

The Aqsa foundation warned that these excavations aimed to weaken the foundation of the Aqsa mosque structure, because in the past similar excavation works caused cracks and fissures in the southern part of the Aqsa mosque walls.

Israel set to make Aqsa museum a synagogue

RAMALLAH: The head of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, has claimed there are Israeli plans to empty the museum of Al-Aqsa Mosque and turn it into a synagogue.

“The museum is one of the mihrabs (niches) of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and an integral part of it, and has a religious value akin to the Dome of the Rock mosque in Islam,” Sheikh Ra’ed Salah said in a statement on Thursday.

The Al-Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage also revealed Thursday that Israeli authorities are conducting a series of excavations in the area containing the Umayyad palaces, adjacent to the southern wall of the holy mosque.

The foundation said that these excavations, covered with tents and plastic sheets, take place at night, especially in one of the water wells in the area that extends under the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

It warned of the impact of such diggings on the foundations of the holy mosque, noting that similar excavations carried out in the past led to cracks and fissures in the southern wall.

It claimed that these excavations are part of an Israeli scheme to increase the influence of Judaism in the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque from all sides.

Control over the city has been seen as the most sensitive and thorniest issue in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Palestinians hope to make East Jerusalem the capital of their future state but Israel says the entire city remains its eternal capital.

Israeli rightists plan Al-Aqsa intrusion

Bethlehem - Ma’an/Agencies - Hundreds of right-wing Jewish Israelis are expected to descend on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem on Thursday, groups told the Jerusalem Post.

A report published on Tuesday in the Israeli daily cited an unnamed group of activists saying they hoped hundreds would show up for a day of organized tours and prayers at the Western Wall and the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The event is being termed a “mass pilgrimage” honoring the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

Palestinian analyst and reporter Amjad Abu Arafeh addressed concerns over the event on Palestinian radio, saying “It seems this is now a usual event in Jerusalem, threatening the Al-Aqsa Mosque. These groups try to invade Al-Aqsa daily to make their prayers there.
“Only yesterday several settlers invaded the yards of Al-Aqsa mosque but the Waqf guards and the guards of the mosque were able to get them out,” he noted.

Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Muhammad Al-Husayni confirmed to Ma’an that the compound faces ongoing threats, and noted officials expected a challenge this week as groups of Jewish worshippers are expected to attempt enter the area. He said right-wing groups issued a call weeks ago for Jews to pray inside Al-Aqsa.

Al-Aqsa is the third holiest site in Jerusalem and a focal point of Palestinian national feeling. A visit by Israeli leader Ariel Sharon in 2000 sparked the second Palestinian uprising, known as the Al-Aqsa Intifada.

The compound sits atop what is believed to be the site of the first and second Jewish Temples. Mainstream custom forbids Jews from visiting the compound. A few extremist groups, however, call for Israel to conquer the area and build a third temple.

Intrusion could reignite fall fires

Any attempt by right-wing Jewish groups to enter Al-Aqsa could spark a return to the protests, heavy Israeli military and police presence seen in Jerusalem in September during the last week of Ramadan. The Muslim holiday coincided with the start of the Jewish High Holiday season. Israel also closed Jerusalem to many Muslim faithful from the West Bank and Gaza.

Palestinians responded to the heavy military presence in the Old City and around the Al-Aqsa Mosque with protests, which often spilled over into nearby areas including the Shufat Refugee Camp inside Israeli-annexed Jerusalem, as well as the Ramallah-Jerusalem checkpoint at Qalandiya.

Throughout the Jewish holidays and what officials called an increased threat against Al-Aqsa, dozens of Palestinians were holed up in the mosque. Hundreds of others were prevented from entering at various points during the period, and dozens were arrested by Israeli forces for their participation in the protests.

The bottom line at the Copenhagen Climate Conference is the same bottom line found in every Obama proposal - the redistribution of wealth from you to anybody else the government designates.

"Redistribution of Wealth" has been the holy grail of one world levelers for over 150 years.

At Copenhagen, the same folks who failed to impose a "New World Order" through international communism, and who have also failed to impose world government through the U.N., believe they have the right formula at last. 

The plan is simple. Hijack the science of climatology; hype evidence that the earth is warming; predict imminent disaster to frighten enough people to justify trillions in reparations from developed nations whose standard of living now threatens the whole planet with destruction, to undeveloped nations who are the "victims" of the success of free nations. The climate threat, you see, has been caused by the evil capitalist U.S. raping and pillaging the earth, spewing CO2 into the atmosphere, melting the icecaps, killing the polar bear, etc. etc.  It apparently doesn't matter that there are more polar bears today than there were 50 years ago and their population appears to be increasing, not decreasing.  These bears have adapted to several ice ages and warming periods that followed without apparent problem.

It also apparently doesn't matter that China now emits more CO2 than the U.S. and is building a new coal fired power plant every couple of weeks on average this year. Yet the Obama pledge for the U.S. taxpayer to pony up 1/4 to 1/3 of the trillions being discussed at Copenhagen will really be a pledge to borrow more money from the Chinese to pay to developing countries to develop wind and solar energy. Delegates from 192 countries are gathered in Copenhagen hoping you don't notice the carbon footprint of the event itself.  [T]he delegates at Copenhagen will have over 1200 limousines at their disposal, they'll largely fly in on private jets, and they'll be wined and dined in the style roundly denounced by climate change fanatics as causing the very problem they are there ostensibly to solve.

Why not an Internet international conference?  Or, why not meet in Bangladesh where the low lying river delta is predicted to be under water because you eat steak?

The hypocrisy of the carbon footprint of the Conference pales into insignificance, however, when compared to the scandal of "Climategate."

The hacked e-mails between the very scientists that the U.N. relied on to proclaim the climate debate "over" reveal it is far from over. As North America experiences its coldest decade in many decades, the "hide the decline" "science" justifying saddling American taxpayers with more debt seems silly. Just three decades ago, "scientists" were predicting an ice age and some of them were even proposing INCREASING the emissions of CO2 to extend the planting season and save mankind from the threat.

The attitude at Copenhagen is denial. The opening speeches can be summarized with the phrase "shut up and vote." The Conference opened with a grotesque example of child abuse.  A video was shown of children from various parts of the world imploring the delegates to save them from the destruction of the planet. The President knows that climate change legislation (cap-and-tax) that passed the House last summer is dead in the Senate. In a breathtaking power play, the President's EPA Administrator declared this week that CO2 was a "pollutant" (never mind that plants would die without CO2) and could be regulated and taxed by the Administration without further legislation from Congress.

With public opinion swinging decisively against the "global warming caused by man" hoax, what power play lurks ahead to back up the President's predicted contribution "pledge" of billions of your dollars at Copenhagen next week ?

Citizens of 12 countries singled out at US airports, document shows

Citizens of 12 countries around the world, including Cuba, Iran and Syria, are automatically subjected to extra screening at US airports unless they have been specifically cleared, according to a leaked document from the Homeland Security department.

The disclosure is part of an embarrassing array of information to have reached the public after guidelines issued to security officers at airports were posted online. The breach has led to five transport officials from the Transportation Security Administration which posted the document being suspended from duties while an investigation is carried out.

The guidelines had been posted on a federal site used to advertise government contracts to private businesses. Sensitive information in the documents had been redacted out, but only by superimposing a black box over the text that could easily be removed using software widely available on the internet.

The document was spotted by a Manhattan-based blogger who runs a little-read blog relating to flying and travel called Wandering Aramean. The TSA promptly removed the manual from the internet, but by then it had been cached on leaked document sites and was uncontrollable.

The TSA said that the security risk was minimal because the guidelines had since been updated. But the agency was repudiated by the homeland security committee of the Senate.

Joe Lieberman, who chairs the committee, said the breach was "an embarrassing mistake".

The information disclosed in the document includes those countries whose citizens are singled out for automatic additional screening. In addition to Cuba, Iran and Syria, they are: Afghanistan, Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

By contrast, the guidelines reveal that certain politicians including state governors and their deputies and immediate families are exempt from certain extra screening procedures, as are foreign dignitaries travelling with their own US security personnel and their diplomatic pouches.

The manual also lists the rules over when a passenger can carry a gun on board an aeroplane. It says that a passenger may place an unloaded firearm or starter pistol in a checked bag as long as the passenger declares it to the aircraft operator at the ticket counter before checking the bag, and the firearm is carried in a locked, hard-sided container for which only the passenger has the key or combination. Small arms ammunition, up to .50 calibre or 8-gauge shells, can also be carried for personal use or for law enforcement purposes in checked baggage.

This is the second embarrassing security breach in as many weeks involving the department of homeland security. The department is already reeling from the fallout of two uninvited reality TV contestants, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, gaining access to the White House during first official state dinner and where they even succeeded in meeting President Barack Obama.

 JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel stripped Palestinians of Jerusalem residency status last year at a faster rate than at any time in the history of the Jewish state, an Israeli rights group said on Wednesday, citing official Israeli statistics.

"Revocation of residence has reached frightening proportions," said Dalia Kerstein, executive director of Israel's HaMoked Center for the Defense of the Individual.

Statistics HaMoked obtained from the Ministry of Interior under a Freedom of Information Act request show 4,577 residents of East Jerusalem had their residence revoked in 2008, which was greater than half the total revoked in the past 40 years.

The United Nations, the United States and the European have criticized Israel's policies in Jerusalem, which include the eviction of Palestinians from homes whose ownership they cannot prove, demolition of housing built without Israeli permits, and expansion of settlements on land occupied since a 1967 war.

The Palestinians say Israel's aim is to get rid of as many Palestinian residents as possible from East Jerusalem, to reduce their presence in its eastern districts and undermine the claim to half of the Holy City as capital of their future state.

"The Interior Ministry campaign in 2008 is only part of a general policy whose aim is to limit the Palestinian population and preserve a Jewish majority in Jerusalem, whose future is supposed to be determined in negotiations," Kerstein said.

"The Palestinians are natives of this city, not residents who have recently arrived," she added in a HaMoked statement.

Israel annexed East Jerusalem after capturing the area in the 1967 Middle East war and regards all of the city as its capital, a claim not recognized internationally.

Some 250,000 Palestinians now live in East Jerusalem and adjacent suburbs alongside 200,000 Israelis. The government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejects calls for the city to be divided or shared as part of a peace agreement.

EU REPORT CITED

The United Nations and Western powers, which do not recognize Israel's claim, say the status of the city is one of the core issues to be settled in peace negotiations, which have been suspended for the past year and show no sign of resuming soon.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Wednesday quoted an internal European Union document as saying Israel was helping Jewish right-wing zealots to implement its "strategic vision" of changing the demographics.

At the same time, the paper quoted the EU report as saying, the Israeli-run municipality was depriving Palestinians of needed building permits and providing them with inferior health, sanitation and educational services.

While 35 percent of Jerusalem citizens are Arab, less than 10 percent of the city's budget goes to Arab areas, the EU internal report said.

ClimateGate Scandal: emails contain discussions including what appear to be concerted efforts to withhold data. Just as troubling is conversations that allude to potentially manipulating climate data to “hide the decline” of temperatures seen in the last decade.

Call him a corporate crony yearning after greater wealth and power or recognize him as a smart, decisive capitalist positioning his investments wisely, but the fact remains that former Vice President Al Gore seems a poster child for all who aspire to be a successful left-wing politician.

Most importantly, Gore can thank his brand of climate change for his financial and societal successes.

Gore’s green crusade recalls memorable Photoshopped images of polar bears fighting for their lives on the last remnant of a contracting glacier. It also brought us such riveting cinematic masterpieces, such as “The Day After Tomorrow” and “An Inconvenient Truth,” depicting the end of the world because of renegade chlorofluorocarbons.

Whether a “going green” fan or not, certainly one must admire the magnitude of Gore’s green marketing campaign, supported by a majority of western scientists partial to its message.

So it came as a shock to the world when breaking news surfaced allegedly linking Gore’s associates to fraud and manipulation of climate statistics in a documented string of thousands of e-mails.

The Wall Street Journal’s aptly named “Climate Gate” brought to light the fraudulent “consensus” among scientists working within the British Climate Research Unit. A Russian climatologist from the University of East Anglia made the discovery and leaked the confidential information to Washington Post associate editor Eugene Robinson.

It looks bad for Gore as more information surfaces. Apparently, it was all about the money.

Al Gore is a member of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a venture capital firm in Silicon Valley that invests heavily in green technology — more than 40 companies — and generates Gore well more than $100 million.

General Electric Co. and World Bank publicly pledged their support through financing targeted green initiatives. Robert Watson, the chief scientist of the World Bank, told Reuters, “The World Bank wants to breathe life back into a mooted $10 billion-plus fund to combat climate change.”

Suspicious about a conspiracy at the highest levels prior to the recent e-mail discovery, the U.S. Congress initiated a hearing on April 4th. The meeting highlighted a Bloomberg report focusing on Gore’s record jump in net worth from $2 million in 2004 to more than $100 Million in less than four years.

In response, Gore said he invested the $100 million into non-profits. Although it proved true, non-profits are tax-shelter organizations for what the left label the “super rich.”

Gore is the chairman of Team Generation Investment, Alliance for Climate Protection and founder of the “We” initiative, all incubators for a variety of the green initiatives. An estimated 77 percent of the money funnels right back to him and his endeavors, tax-free with additional tax credits for his philanthropy.

Worse, Gore and his venture partners stand to benefit exponentially from the Cap and Trade Climate bill Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass. and Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., proposed. If the bill passes in the Senate, the New York Times and climatedepot.com estimate that Gore, his associates and a host of unnamed investors can receive a financial windfall of more than $4 billion per year.

Prior to these leaked “Climate Gate” e-mails, Gore and a handful of scientists had a majority of America and western society fooled. The question still remains whether there will be justice in the media against proven fraud on the left.Or, will the magnitude of this fraud be brushed under the rug at the behest of partisan politics and high stakes investors?
